Much like the sea, you never know what's on the next tide

While I spent the majority of my life as a ship captain, I have a tough time not looking at the world as a Captain does.
And much like the days of waiting for the tide to come in, (life at low tide is miserable) much are the tribulations as a TV exec.
Last evening, while I was watching a pair of Great horned Owls do a mating ritual in the tree tops in my backyard, I got a message from my friend and partner, Mike Wood over at Gold Country Radio.
Mike said that two separate businesses made commitments to KCTV.
I was immediately taken back to my days running my sailing school, where I would watch the waves lap at the shore line with a ready eye for anything that might come in on the tide.
More than once, a dock or a life vest or a bolt of rope or something useful would wash ashore, and all it took for me to find it was to pay attention.
While I wasn't watching the water last night, just as sure the winds of change blew over Klamath County and television in the City of Sunshine got the first breaths of life.
I must take a moment to thank Gold Country Radio for all their hard work. Mike and Angie are big supporters of KCTV, and it was no small part that they coordinated with Lester Realty and Legacy Painting and Construction to get their commitments.
It takes a village to raise a child, and a whole county to build a proper TV station.
Now that we have two of the ten commitments confirmed, we only have 8 spots left until we will bring this station to life, and we have new energy across the organization to make that happen.
This is really a great deal, for $999 you get a branded playlist on our channel, a produced 30 second spot and 40 plays at least for a whole year. In all likelihood, it will be more like a 1000 plays per month, but that's your win. And we don't take any money until all 10 are committed to, so you really don't have any risk. You really can't beat this deal.
And when all ten are committed to, which I hope will happen this week, we will contract the channel and be off making television history as we begin our campaign to end the plight of news deserts here in America.
